Digital Tuesday Challenge #13

Hello there everyone,
.
This is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge. I, Michelle, am the hostess this week and this is my very first time to ever come up with a blog challenge.I don't know about y'all, but here in Florida where I am from we are definitely midst of summer with the temperatures already in the upper 90's. So my challenge to you is to create something that has to do with SUMMERTIME and of course, it has to have a digistamp somewhere on it!!
.
What better way to celebrate summertime than by GRILLING!!
.
My images are from Dustin Pike. He just so happens to be our sponsor this week. The images are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. My sentiment is computer generated.

Hello,
.
This is for several challenge I found via the Daily Dare

This is for today's Color Chef Challenge where we were to use Red, White, and Blue.
.
This is for today's Cuttlebug Spot where we were to create a card for the 4th of July.
.
This is for Wednesday's Crafty Creation's Challenge where we were to create a card with Stars and Stripes. It didn't have to be patriotic, but I went patriotic anyways!! My stripes are on the flag.
.
And finally the sketch came from today's The Next Level Challenge
.
My image is a newly released digital image for the 4th of July from KLM Designs. It is colored with SU! Markers, but the hair was colored with Copic Markers. I am working on getting more Copics. For my bg, I used Crosshatch BG with Real Red one way and Brilliant Blue the other way. My sentiment is computer generated.

Howdy Y'all

Howdy Y'all,
.
This is for today SCS Technique Challenge 227 Faux Burnt Edges. I did mine just a little differently, but it's the same concept. I started off with More Mustard paper. I used daubers with More Mustard, Creamy Carmel, Close to Cocoa, and Chocolate Chip ink to create my look. I also de stressed my edges to give them a rough look.
.
This is also for Crafty Creation's Wednesday Challenge where we were to use stars and stripes and it didn't have to be a patriotic card.
.
This is for Three Clovers Designs Thursday Challenge where we were to create a card for where you are from. I am from Texas if you can't tell!! LOL
.
And finally, my sketch is from Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge.
.
My image is a digital image from Dustin Pike colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. My sentiment is computer generated.

Doodle Palace Sneak Peek for June 30th

Hello,
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 125-DawnL. She does having such an amazingly beautiful gallery. I chose this card to CASE.
.
Now, I tried to keep with her same basic layout, colors and theme, but the card kinda took a life of it's own and this is what it ended up as.
I changed the image to a different cat and added a fish bowl image.
I kept her colors, but added a few layers of them and stamped a bg on the base layer.
Ironically enough, I only have one corner border punch and it happened to be the same one she used.
I changed her yarn to velvet ribbon with a cording tie.
.
All of the images are a sneak peek of a set by Doodle Palace that will be released Tuesday, June 30th. The set has a mix of 9 different images and sentiments. My images are colored with a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, and Copic Markers. My sentiment is computer generated.

Doodle Palace Sneak Peek for June 30th

Hello,
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 125 - DawnL. She has one beautiful gallery!! I chose this one to CASE.
.
I kept her same basic layout, but changed just about everything else.
I changed the image, but don't light houses make you think of sailing? I know they do to me. So, you could say it goes along with her theme too.
I added some layers to the image.
I added paper piercing.
My ribbon is a smaller width, but I wrapped it twice to get the thickness of hers, but I tied it in the front.
I don't have any metal frames like she has so I made a paper frame.
.
My image is a sneak peek digital image from Doodle Palace that will be released Tuesday, June 30th. I printed the image 3 times so I could paper tole the bear. It is all colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. My sentiment is computer generated.

Coloring Tutorial FINALLY Here!!!!

Well, here it is. Finally, I have manage to put together this tutorial. I tell you, it was very difficult for me. The pictures I had orginally taken turned out horrible. I took them myself while coloring the image. They were blurry and bad quality. So, I had to wait until I had someone here with me to help me take these photos. I tell ya, try to cordinate that was next to impossible, but I finally was able to pen down my oldest DD, Aliyah, to help me out. So this morning I set out to color a new image with Aliyah at my side taking the pictures. Then came the task of uploading and writing out this tutorial. I mean to tell ya, there has got to be an easier way of doing this. It has taken me forever!! It seemed everytime I uploaded a new pic, it skewed all the other ones. It was a pains taking process. I do not know if I will ever atempt to do this again!! Through it all though, I did manage to get it done. I hope you enjoy this and find it helpful in your own journey of coloring.

To start, you will need...

An image to color
Color Pencils from light to dark
Blender Stump
Odorless Mineral Spirits

Now, for the pencil colors, when coloring an image, you want to give it depth. To do this, you need several shades of the color. I usually go with three. A light, a medium, and a dark. In this case, I went with Yellow Orche, Goldenrod, and Burnt Orche. Some times I only go with two, depends on what I am coloring.

To begin, use the lightest color first. In this case, it is Yellow Ochre. Add a slightly thick line of Yellow Ochre to the outer edges of the image.

This is what it look like once you have added Yellow Ochre to the outer edges of the image.

With a blender stump dipped in Odorless Mineral Spirits, blend the color in small circles around the outer edges of the images, pulling the color into the center giving the image complete color coverage.

This is what it looks like once it is all blended.

Now, to add some depth to the image. Color a thinner line of Goldenrod to the all of the edges.

This is what it look like once you have added Goldenrod to the outer edges.

Like the first time around, blend the color in in small circles around the edges and pull the color into the center. Don't pull the color all the way the the center like the first time. Just blend it in part of the way, making it look smooth. You want the lighter color to stay showing in the center.

This is what it looks like once it is all blended.

Now you want more depth to the outer parts of the image. Take Burnt Ochre and add a thin line of color to the outer parts of the dog minus the nose and the belly.

This is what it looks like when you are finished adding Burnt Ochre to the edges.

Blend the edges with a blender stump. Instead of blending in circles like with the first two blendings, blend it by going back and forth, lightly pulling to the center. This way it keeps the darker color to the outer edges of the image giving it depth.

This is what it looks like once it is blended.

I needed to add just a little more depth to my image. I added a touch of Goldenrod to the edges of the nose, the bridge of the nose, and the base of the belly. I added a touch of Burnt Ochre under the nose at the neck line, and the the back legs. I then blended the colors in for the final time to complete the image.

This is what is looks like when you are done.

This is the finished creation. I took the image, cut it out with a Nestibilities, destressed it, and layered it up on the card you see. I hope this tutorial helps y'all understand how I color all the images with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. This is one heck of a task creating a tutorial, but I finally got it done for y'all.

Tell me....

What do y'all think?

I would love to see what y'all come up with, so please send me a link to show what you have done!!

I forgot to mention, my image is a digital image from Doodle Palace. Check out their store on my sidebar. They have incredibily cute stuff!!

A LSC Major Mix Up!!

Hello there everyone,
.
Well, I originally was making this for today's Limited Supplies Challnge 226 Chinese Take Out, but somehow I got it all mixed up!! I guess the challenge proved a bit much for me. I thought I had all the info in my head right and didn't bother to write it down. Then I went to the Daily Dare to find other challenges I could combine the LSC with. I found several I wanted to work with. Somehow, in the process of looking through the challenges, I got the LSC mixed up. I managed to get the train part right.
.
This is where the mix up happened.
This is for No Time to Stamp's Challenge where we were to use blues and greens along with piercing. I thought great green and blue that is the colors for the LSC, and it didn't say anything about not using piercing. Well, come to find out, no, it was blue/red or green/browns. Go figure!!
.
This is for Stampin' B's Challenge where we were to use both wet and dry embossing. For the LSC, we could use Diecuts/Punches & Embossing Folders/Texture Plates. Perfect!! For my wet embossing, I clear embossed the blue parts of the train. For my dry embossing, I used my Cuttlebug Diecut.
.
Now this part, I knew I was kinda cheating (boy this was a difficult challenge for me!!)
This is for Stamp Something's Challenge where we were to use three embellishments. I added the three brads to my train.
.
I also used Monday's Technique Challenge 226 Faux Denim for my bg panels.
.
And my sketch came from the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge
.
My image is a digital image from Digital Stamp Oasis colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.
.
So there you have it. This was supposed to be for the LSC, but it got all mixed up. I guess that is what I get for combining so many challenges. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. I chose to upload it anyway because I wanted everyone to see it!! Hope the challenge police don't come after me!!

.
This is for Charisma Cards Challenge where we could create any card we wanted!!
.
This is for Three Clovers Designs Challenge where we were to create a card that represented where you are from. I was born and raised in the USA!!!
.
Finally, this is also for Stamp and Smiles Sketch Challenge
.
My image is a digital image from Doodle Palace. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. For my bg, I used Crosshatch with Real Red one way and Brilliant Blue the other way. My sentiment is stamped on 3 different colors, punched and cut out, and layered together for a multicolored sentiment.

Dustin Pike One Sheet Box with Card

Hello there,
.
I made a combination One Sheet Box and Card to go with it.
.
This is for today's Color Challenge 224 Pacific Tango Summer where we were to use Pacific Blue, Tangerine Tango, and Summer Sun.
.
This is also for Sweet n' Sassy's Project Tuesday Challenge where we were to create a One Sheet Box. You can find the tutorial on how to make it here.My image is a digital image from Dustin Pike colored with Prismacolor Pencil and OMS. I did cheat with the image on the box. I photo copied the image and made it smaller to fit the box. I computer generated both sentiments.
.
My 6 yr old DD, Brianna, went to the dentist today and she had an awesome exam!! She has no cavities!!! So in honor of her having no cavities, I made this card and box for her. The box will have inside it a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and stickers. All the stuff you get from the dentist at your visit!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #12

Hello,
.
Today, we posted our new challenge on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog. It is hosted by Martha, and her challenge to us was to use our scraps, and of course, atleast one digital image.
.
Our sponsor this week is Squigglefly so I got the opportunity to work with one of their stamps. Ironically enough, this is also for their challenge they posted yesterday!! The challenge was to think out of the box. Our image was to come outside of the box. As you see, my ballerina's arm is out of the box. She is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I used the music folder with the Cuttlebug to create my bg and my sentiment is computer generated.
.
This is also for yesterday's SCS Technique Challenge 226 Faux Denim. I did the same technique just with pink instead.
.
What do y'all think?
.
Stay tuned next week, because it is my turn to host the Digital Tuesday Challenge and it is sponsored by Dustin Pike!!!!

Dustin Pike Sneak Peek for June 25th

Hello everyone,
.
This is for Friday's Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge where we were to create a scene. I made a prehistoric scene!!
.
This is for today's The Next Level Challenge where we were to create a stair step card. I sooooo love stair step cards and when I saw Dustin Pike's mage's that are going to be released Thursday, June 25th, I knew I had to make stair step card with them. I colored everything with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Now I did cheat some. I only colored the bg one time. I then photo copied it six times to create all the bg. Each level has a layer popped up with dementionals. The pterodactyl's body is popped up and the stegosaurus' head is popped up also. I did outline all of the images with a black SU! Marker to make them pop more. I computer generated my sentiment.
.
All of these images are being released Thursday 25th along with a raptor (sp). I made a card with him for today's SCS Technique Challenge. I didn't feel he belonged on this card because he is a meat eater and all these guys are plant eaters. I thought they might be uncomfortable with him on this card with them!! LOL
.
Anywho, what do y'all think?

I checked out the challenge and the Daily Dare and the next thing I know, I have nothing!! Not even my cell phone because my DD took the charger and my phone was dead!! Talk about going crazy with no communication to the outside world!! So I stamped several cards today!!
.
This is for today's Technique Challenge 226 Faux Denim
.
This is also for 2 Sketches 4 You's Sketch Challenge #29

Humdinger of a Challenge Card!!

Hello everyone,
.
Boy, do I have a humdinger of a card today!! This card is for 5 different challenges. I found the challenges via The Daily Dare run by our very own newly appointed SCS Dirty Girl and personal friend of mine, Deb Felts!!!
.
The first challenge the is for is for today SCS Limited Supplies Challenge 225 International Flair where we were to make a card using a different language on it. Mine is in Spanish and it means Thinking of You.
.
Second is the 365 Card Challenge #111 Say it with Stripes where we were to use bold colors and stripes.
.
Third is the Daring Card Makers Challenge-Missing You where we were to make a card that shares your love with someone - it could be missing you, thinking of you, across the miles.
.
Fourth is for the Stamping B's Challenge #11 where we were to use the water coloring technique. I used Watercolor Crayons and a water brush.
.
And last. but not least, this is for the Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge where we were to follow the sketch with the twist of DP inspiration. I ended up not going with the rules. The rules were to use one DP how ever much you wanted and use it as your inspiration for your card. Well, I ended up using 2. I didn't realize I had done the challenge wrong until I went to upload it, but hey, it is still the sketch and was an awesome inspiration for me!!
.
My image is a digital image from KLM Designs. It is colored with Watercolor Crayons and a water brush. And yes, you can watercolor digital images if you heat set them with a heat gun before water coloring them.

Wat True TXTing is 2 Me!! LOL

Hello again everyone,
.
When I saw the challenge today, I tried to wrap my head around what texting meant and I came up with the card I posted earlier today, but then I realized I wanted to make a card with what texting means to me. My 13 yr old DD and I text each other constantly on our phones as well as to many other people. So, when I saw use texting, this is what I actually had thought of first.
.
This is for today SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 223 Texting where we were to use texting on our cards.
.
This is also for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I tried to follow the sketch as close as possible, but my image was a little to big for me to do the upper right corner the way the sketch was. So, I used a bunch of brads instead.
.
My image is a digital image from KLM Designs. It is one of the images I colored while on vacation in Orlando with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I computer generated the text sentiment.

Dustin Pike and KLM Designs

Hello there,
.
This is for today's SCS Ways to Use It Challenge 223 Texting. I am not quite sure about the texting thing. I saw that someone used a quote for texting, so that is what I went with. I computer generated a quote by e.e.cummings.
.
.
As for the images, well, they are digital images from 2 different companies.
The octopus frame is from Dustin Pike and was released last Thursday when I was on vacation.
The ocean view is from KLM Designs. I took both of these images with me on my vacation and colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I cut out the octopus frame, then used Nesitibilities to create a port hole frame, and glue the octopus to it. I then popped the frame up on top of the ocean scene. I put dew drop over most of the bubbles. I used the negative effect with the Cuttlebug to create the top bg.

Mercat Hello

Hello there,

I have been busy today cleaning the house, unpacking (finally) from our trip, doing the laundry, and believe it or not, cleaning and organizing my insane mess of a stamp room!!! It has taken me all day to do this!! My stamp room was so bad I couldn't even stamp in it anymore!! I was working on the kitchen table!! Any way, once I got done, I was so exciting I had to make a card in my newly cleaned stamp room!!
.
This is for today's SCS Sketch Challenge 233. I turned the sketch upright.
.
My image is a digital image from Dustin Pike. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. This is one of the images I colored while down in Orlando. I couldn't wait to put it to a card and this sketch was the perfect size for it!! I do have to say I cheated a little though. I only colored the image once. When I finished coloring it, I felt the mercat needed to be popped up. So, I photo copied the colored image then cut the mercat from the original and popped it up with demensionals. I daubered the bg with Cool Carribean and my sentiment is computer generated.

Dustin Pike Sneak Peek for June 18th!!!

Hello everyone,
.
When I got the new images for Dustin Pike's digital images that are being released Thursday June 18th, I knew I had to color them and put them to a card!! I do have many images all ready colored from my trip to Disney that need to be put to a card, but I just couldn't resist working with these!!!
.
This is for Caardvark's Depth Perception Challenge where we were to make a 3-D project. My 3-d project of course is a stair step card.
.
This is also for Verve's Project Parade where we were to make a project or card that fits your style and celebrates a man in your life. Well, my kids and I think my DH is definitely 'Out of This World' and we are giving this to him for Father's Day.
.
All of my images are digital images from Dustin Pike and they will all be released this Thursday, June 18th. They are all colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Now, I kinda cheated with the BG image. I colored it only once and then I photo copied it three times to make my BG for all three panels. I cut out all of there other images and popped them up with demensionals. I hand wrote the sentiment on the sign and computer generated the rest.

DTC#11 Newly Released Doodle Palace

Hello there,
.
I have made this card for many challenges.
.
The first challenge is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge #11 hosted by Maria. She has asked us to do a recipe. You are to use blue, brown, bling, and of course, a digital image. I added a little green with mine.
.
My sketch is from last week's Sketch Challenge #232. I missed it last week because of being on vacation in Disney. The image I colored fit the sketch perfectly.
.
Finally, this is for both Fun Frilled and The Cuttlebug Spot. They were both challenges to create a Father's Day card.
.
As for my image, it is a newly released digital image from Doodle Palace. Isn't he so totally cute!! I printed it out twice, colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OSM, cut out the hat, and popped it up with demensionals.
.
I will, of course, be giving this to my DH for Father's Day!! I will need to make a few cards for my girls to give him too.

SCS Technique Challenge Goof Up!!

Hello there,
.
Well, I had intended this to be for today's SCS Technique Challenge, but when I went to look up what number it was, I realized I did a card for last week Technique Challenge. Oh well!! LOL
.
This is for last week's SCS Technique Challenge 224 Acetate & Color where we were to print an image off of the computer on to acetate and use an alcohol based coloring medium to color the image.
.
Well, I had all sorts of problems with this. First of all, my printer wouldn't print on acetate with out it smudging all over the place. So I took one of my stamps and stamped it with StazOn Black. Second, I didn't have anything I could really use to color it. The way I solved this problems was to go SHOPPING!!! I went and bought my first Copics markers!! I am taking the certification class in July so I thought it was time I should try to work with them!!! The last thing I had a problem with was how to attach the acetate to the white. I ended up using brads to attach it.
.
This is also for today's Res-Q Challenge where we were to use embossed dots. I had found a package of embossed DP while shopping for my Copics. It works perfectly for this challenge.
.
All in all, I really like how this card turned out.

KLM Designs #4

Hello Hello,
.
Ok, this is my last one for the day!! I promise!!
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 123 Roseanne (sumtoy). I told you her gallery was awesome to CASE with the new releases from KLM Designs. I chose this card for my final card to CASE.
.
I kept Roseanne's same basic layout and theme, but I changed up the colors a little.
I changed the sentiment to Friendship.
And instead of place four brads, one on each panel, I place three brads on each of the outer sides.
.
My image is a digital image from KLM Designs. I printed it out twice. Colored them both with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Then cut out the water lily, and popped it up on demensionals.
.
Sorry for the poor quality in the photo. I can never take a good pic at night time.

KLM Designs New Release #3

Well hello again,
.
After taking my youngest to the pool for 2 hours, I decided to make yet another card. Like I said I had several picked out to CASE today!!
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 123 Roseanne (sumtoy). Totally rockin' awesome gallery she has!! For my third choice, I chose this card to CASE.
.
Well I tried to stay with Roseanne's layout, theme and colors, but it seems the card took on a life of it's own!!
I change the flower image and added a layer to it. I was gonna put glitter on it, but I liked it the way it was colored. So I popped up the flowers instead.
I added a layer to the base and change the DP.
I was going to put the ribbon in the same place, but then it was cover the cool DP. So I decided to put it on the flower instead.
Then it looked like the side was missing something so I added the rhinestone brads and a sentiment.
So like I said it kinda took on a life of it's own, but it did start off as a CASE. It still is just kinda different.

Newly Released KLM Desings #2

Hello again,
.
I told you I had picked several cards to CASE today!! LOL
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 123 Roseanne (sumtoy). This time, I chose this card to CASE.
.
I kept Roseanne's same basic layout, theme and colors.
I changed the flower image, and layered it a little differently.
I added a layer to the base and used a different BG stamp.
I changed the type of ribbon.
And added a sentiment with rhinestone accents.
.
My image is a digital image from KLM Designs that was released on June 8th. I love all of their new flower releases and Roseanne's gallery works perfectly with them!! Thanks for the inspirations Roseanne!! The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.

Newly Released KLM Designs

Hello there everyone,
.
This is for today's SCS Featured Stamper 123 Roseanne (sumtoy). What an awesome gallery she has to choose from!! I have picked out several I want to CASE. Hopefully I can get to them today. For now, this is the one I chose to CASE first.
.
I kept her same basic layout, theme and colors.
I changed the flower image and how it is layered.
I added a layer to the base.
I did the same Marble Technique for my BG, but did not Cuttlbug it or clip the corners.
I changed my ribbon to a thicker multi-colored ribbon.
And instead of brads on my sentiment, I added rhinestones.

My image is a digital image from KLM Designs that was released on June 8th. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I computer generated my sentiment.
